Skirmantas Paukštys is beginning to make his mark at Monopoli, and his latest performance in the Coppa Italia Serie C offered an encouraging glimpse of the attacking qualities that made him stand out to Scoutmania.

Paukštys was the first player recommended by Scoutmania to Monopoli from BE1 NFA, making his progress with the Italian club particularly significant. His latest appearance away against Potenza provided another indication of his potential.

In the 39th minute of the first half, Paukštys found the net with an excellent piece of finishing. Receiving the ball just outside the box, he finished with his first touch, striking a precise shot with his left foot.

The goal was not his only attacking contribution before half-time. Paukštys repeatedly found himself in dangerous positions and had two further big chances from close range. Although he missed both opportunities, his ability to get into scoring positions demonstrated his constant threat around the opposition penalty area.

Potenza brought the match level at 1–1 when Murano converted from the penalty spot in the 67th minute. With the score remaining unchanged through the remainder of regular time, the tie was decided on penalties, where Potenza prevailed 4–2 to win 5–3 on aggregate.

Paukštys was the first Scoutmania recommendation to Monopoli from BE1 NFA, and his performances will continue to be monitored throughout the season.
