Home side NKP Podhale Nowy Targ, led by coach Tomasz Kuźma, started the match in 3-4-2-1 formation, with experienced striker Piotr Giel up front. The manager sent his players onto the pitch in an offensive attitude; they also often attempted to practice elevated pressure on the opposition defenders, even in/around the box, to create confusion in the early phase of their build up. Bartosz Kurzeja (who is Podhale’s best scorer in the II liga up to now) and Adam Chojecki in the attacking midfielder positions definitely played key role in the team’s dynamic offensive play (Kurzeja scored one goal, and Chojecki also scored one, in addition to making an assist). The fantastic team mentality also needs to be highlighted, as the away team has leveled the score in the 85th minute from two goals down, yet Podhale was the one who could hit the winning goal in the extra-time (3-2).

Rekord Bielsko-Biała, under the guidance of coach Dariusz Rucki, opted for 4-3-3 formation, which turned to be a 4-2-3-1 shape in the 2nd half (it was especially visible when they were out of possession). Their left centre-back Jan Sobociński often attempted to make long-range passes forward & also to the flanks. In the second part of the clash, they were able to demonstrate a much more confident ball possession based game, which leveled the play between the boxes. If the opponent Podhale was praised for its team mentality, the same goes for this side too, as Rekord equalized the score from two goals down (70th and 85th minutes) — in terms of changes, coach Dariusz Rucki made brilliant decisions to send Wojciech Łaski and Kacper Kasprzak in, as both players rattled the net, just a few moments after entering the pitch.

By this final result, Podhale Nowy Targ has now 35 points collected, which puts them six points behind 1st placed team Unia Skierniewice, and only three points behind 2nd placed Warta Poznań; this game’s guests Rekord Bielsko-Biała is now in the 15th league position, with 21 points in their account.
