Maardu Linnameeskond secured all three points with a 1–0 victory thanks to a disciplined defensive performance against Viimsi JK. Despite enjoying the majority of possession, Viimsi struggled to create clear-cut scoring opportunities throughout the match. However, the most promising individual players on the pitch were in the Viimsi JK squad, with several showing the potential to progress to a higher level.
Maardu Linnameeskond, coached by Deniss Kovtun, used a 1-4-2-3-1 formation and implemented man-oriented midfield marking. The attacking midfielder Aleksandr Volkov tracked the opposition defensive midfielder Karl Kaljuvere closely, following him even when he made off-the-ball runs into the space behind the defensive line (see video below).
Progression was often achieved through direct long passes from the centre-backs, targeting striker Manucho as the focal point to advance play upfield (see video below).

In their 1-4-3-3 structure, Viimsi JK under Andres Oper regularly used early long balls from the centre-backs to exploit the space behind the opposition’s defensive line. The passes were timed to the wingers’ V-runs, enabling direct progression into advanced areas (see image below).
They pressed aggressively when the ball was played from one centre-back to the other, with their attacking midfielders or wingers closing down quickly and forcing errors in the opposition’s build-up (see the video below).

Rannar is an inverted winger with good vision, capable of creating chances through precise through balls and intelligent decision-making in the final third. He is comfortable receiving between the lines with an open body shape, allowing him to turn quickly and face defenders. Physically, he is still developing and has room to improve in duels and intensity.
Rannar is a player worth monitoring as he accumulates senior minutes, continues to develop physically, and gains confidence. Within the next one to two years, he has the potential to establish himself in the Estonian top flight. From there, he could become an attractive prospect for one of the country’s top three clubs.
Johann Kore (Viimsi JK), offensive midfielder born 2004.
Left-footed attacking midfielder with good vision and excellent passing accuracy. He consistently played precise lofted passes over the opposition’s defensive line and switched play effectively with accurate long-range distribution. He also delivered dangerous early crosses from the left flank after supporting attacks with well-timed overlapping runs. Comfortable carrying the ball forward, he can progress play through his dribbling as well as his passing.
Johann appears ready to compete in the Estonian top flight, particularly with a low- to mid-table side. With regular minutes at that level, he has the potential to attract interest from clubs in Finland’s Ykkösliiga or even Sweden’s Superettan.
