In this article, we will put the spotlight on a midfielder whose performance was worth following week by week during the 2025 season of the Swedish Superettan: Ahmed Bonnah.

Ahmed is a Swedish-Egyptian midfielder, who played for Östersunds FK in the previous Superettan season (2025) in Sweden. He turned to be one of the key players of the team, as his coaches (Kiarash Livani, and Tor-Arne Fredheim from Matchday 27) could count on him in almost every league games (28 out of 30). The creative play he demonstrated mixed to his great vision and confidence offered quality support both for ÖFK‘s build-up and offensive play.
Has an average height (approximately 178 cm) with adequate physique, he is a fairly energetic player who shows dynamism both on and off the ball. Can be described as an all-rounder, as he is able to play in several different roles in midfielder position: he fits the Deep-lying playmaker, Box-to-box midfielder and Advanced playmaker roles perfectly, and can also play effectively as Wide midfielder (mainly on the left chain). Ahmed is mostly known for his outstanding playmaking abilities, in addition to his positioning, dribbling, progressive play and awareness.

Ahmed is currently free agent, as his contract with ÖFK has expired. His versatility, playmaking and initiative play definitely make him an interesting profile, not only for the level he played recently on but even for higher tiers — would clearly hold its own in a competitive league, where his next team is allowed to play in increased offensive mind.
