Kolding IF earn their 2nd win of the season as Vendsyssel continue to try and achieve a first win since August.

On a Friday night kicking off matchday 11 in the Betinia Liga Kolding won 2-1 at home vs a struggling Vendsyssel FF. This game started off slowly with neither team creating threatening chances until 30 minutes inside the first half.

Newly appointed Karl Marius Aksum deployed a 4-4-2 defensive shape that morphed into a 4-2-2-2 looking shape when Kolding IF gained possession and built up attacks. The outside midfielders liked to tuck inside and contribute to attacks at a high starting position. Kolding were comfortable playing out from the back and building attacks with longer stints of possession.

Vendsyssel were in a 4-2-3-1 for most of the game. Kim Engstrom, who manages Vendsyssel, had trouble finding any solutions to build attacks and create any type of genuine threat to goal. His team found a goal in the 92nd minute from a header scored by substitute Andreas Rise Kristiansen. All that was observed from a Kolding goal keeping perspective was one cross claim and a routine save low to the goalkeepers left. Most of the shots taken by the away team were blocked from a short distance or poor decisions from bad distances or angles.

Player to watch

Mads Nybo Lauritsen  (Vendsyssel FF, LCB, 21 yrs)

This game did not have many stand out performers but I do see more potential in this centre-back given his physical profile, existing skill set, and age. #73 Mads Nybo Lauritsen is a left footed CB who demonstrated good anticipation in covering space in behind, key blocks in his own 6 yd box, and making tackles. The area this player can improve upon is delivering more entry passes that break down pressing opponents. If that skill is improved upon, this players value will increase sharply given the high demand for left footed, ball playing center backs. The video will mainly show excellent moments of emergency defending and open field tackling.
