With a solid and confident performance, Hvidovre secured three important points away against Kolding. They demonstrated defensive stability and showed good spells of possession, using the ball effectively to open up their opponents. Both teams featured several promising talents, highlighting the success of their recruitment strategies from the local lower leagues.
Kolding IF, coached by Jonas Kamper in a 1-4-3-3 formation. Their striker, Tobias Augustinus-Jensen, frequently drifted into wide areas to create space for deep midfield runs while also providing an outlet to receive and play accurate through passes. This pattern was particularly effective in finding Casper Jørgensen, who has since been sold to Fredericia, and who consistently showed excellent timing when attacking the space in behind. One such example came in the first half, when his well-timed run led to a clear scoring opportunity (see video below).
They defended in a 1-5-4-1 formation, with one of their three midfielders, Casper Jørgensen, dropping into the left wing-back position. However, his defensive shortcomings contributed to the opening goal, as he was late to track his direct opponent, former Vejle player Marius Elvius, who was able to exploit the space and score.
Hvidovre IF, under Martin Retov, used a 1-3-4-3 formation to overload the opposition’s two-man midfield. They achieved this by staggering their two central midfielders vertically, with Oliver Bjerrum Jensen occupying a deeper position and Oliver Kjaergaard a higher one, rather than operating on the same horizontal line. At the same time, the wingers dropped into deeper positions in line with the opposition midfielders, creating numerical superiority in the central area (see video below).
They scored in the 26th minute following a long passing sequence that culminated in a penetrative pass from Oliver Bjerrum Jensen, who found Marius Elvius through on goal. A key aspect of the move was Louka Prip’s positioning, which drew Albert Nørager out of position and created the space for Jensen’s decisive through ball (see video below).

Nicolai Bossen (Kolding IF), left winger born 2006.
Nicolai is a fast winger whose biggest strength is his pace. He makes well-timed runs in behind the defensive line and is able to receive the ball between the lines, where he plays accurate one-touch passes to help move the attack forward.
Nicolai’s speed is a special quality, and his direct runs make him very difficult to defend. I believe he has the potential to play for a top-six club in Denmark or a top-three club in Norway within the next two years. If he continues to develop, he could later take the next step and become a good option for a mid-table Eredivisie club.
Magnus Døj (Kolding IF), centre-back born 2005.
Magnus is a right-footed centre-back who is strong in 1v1 defending and has good defensive positioning. He reads the game well, intercepting forward passes and making important defensive interventions, including as the last defender in the second half. In physical duels, he uses his upper body effectively to put opponents off balance. In possession, he plays accurate, line-breaking passes to progress the ball through the opposition.
Magnus looks well suited to playing as the wide centre-back in a back three. His agility and ability to read the game give him the qualities to earn a move to a low- or mid-table club in the Danish Superliga.
Mikkel Lynge (Kolding IF), defensive midfielder born 2005.
Mikkel is a tall defensive midfielder who is strong in duels and effective at breaking up play. He reads dangerous situations well and stopped several counterattacks with intelligent tactical fouls. In possession, he plays accurate forward passes and helps move the ball into advanced areas.
Mikkel has the attributes to become a good option for a lower-table Eliteserien club. Regular playing time at Kolding would support his development, and his physical presence would make him a valuable player for teams that rely on intensity and physicality.
Donavan Bagou (Hvidovre IF), striker born 2004.
Donavan is a mobile striker with good physicality. He coordinates his movements well inside the box and is quick to react to finish chances. He came close to scoring with a left-footed shot that hit the crossbar. He also linked play effectively, setting up supporting teammates with accurate lay-offs using both his feet and his chest.
Donavan had an excellent season with Hellerup, scoring 19 goals in the Danish 2. Division. He now has another opportunity to prove himself at 1. Division level after his previous spell with Hillerød. I believe he has the qualities to enjoy another productive season. If he continues to perform at a high level, he could earn a move to a Ligue 2 club in France.
Emmanuel Aby (Hvidovre IF), striker born 2007.
Emmanuel is a fast and mobile striker who is explosive when changing direction with the ball. He makes intelligent off-the-ball movements to receive passes behind the opposition’s defensive line and is strong in physical duels. His pace, movement, and strength make him a constant threat to opposing defenders.
Emmanuel would benefit from playing as the second striker in a front two, where he could use his explosiveness to attack loose balls around a target forward and create scoring opportunities. He has the potential to become a good option for a low- to mid-table club in the Danish Superliga. If he continues to develop, he could later earn a move to a mid-table club in the English Championship.
Alexander Johansen (Hvidovre IF), left winger born 2005.
Alexander is a fast, inverted winger who excels in attacking 1v1 situations. He consistently threatens defenders with direct dribbling, winning dangerous set-piece opportunities and, in the closing stages of matches, relieving pressure by carrying the ball and drawing fouls. His well-timed diagonal runs behind the defensive line make him a constant attacking threat.
Alexander would benefit from playing regularly in a more open and transition-oriented league, such as Norway’s OBOS-ligaen or Sweden’s Superettan. The increased space and tempo would likely enhance his offensive output, allowing him to develop his end product and improve his chances of earning a move to a top-flight club in Scandinavia.
