At the upgraded Capelli Sport Stadion, Middelfart secured three points against HB Køge, overturning a 1–0 deficit to win 1–2. HB Køge, who fielded a young and talented squad, controlled significant phases of the match, while Middelfart capitalised on key moments to reverse the scoreline.

HB Köge, coached by Nicklas Pedersen in a 1-5-2-3 formation out of possession, adopted a 1-4-3-3 shape in possession by ´pushing´ their centre-back Westergren into midfield (as you can see in the first two images below).

They dominated possession for long periods of the game showing fluidity and strong control of the ball. Their striker Gøthler (born 2007) was a constant threat by running behind the opposition high defensive line with well-timed movements (see image below). The U19 Danish National team forward scored also the first goal of the match by collecting Schütt low cross and turning the ball into the back of the net (34´).

Middelfart, coached by Kim Engstrøm in a 1-3-4-3 formation in possession, struggled to progress with the ball through the thirds in the first half due to HB Köge intense high pressure. Out of possession, they often ended up in a 1-5-3-2 low block with their left winger Villemoes “meeting” the opposition right back to keep the back five intact (as you can see in the image below).

This allowed them to have very dangerous counterattacks from deep by exploiting HB Köge lack of balance while attacking (see image below).

Middelfart´s two goals were scored by their offensive midfielder Mads Hansen, who entered the pitch at the start of the 2nd half and came out again at the 75th minute after having a massive impact on the match result.

For his first goal (57’), he initially positioned himself behind the opposition’s first line of pressure to link play. Moments later, he arrived in the penalty area and finished with a simple tap-in following Wielzen’s cross and Akalé’s flick-on (see image below).

In the second goal, he intercepted the ball played through the center by the opposition centre-back Hald before converting Wielzen outstanding assist by chipping the ball over the goalkeeper (63´).
